Membership Categories
DABS offers three membership categories designed to meet the needs of your organization.
Members shall be classified as hereinafter provided. Each member classification, as herein defined, shall have the rights, privileges, and obligations pertaining to such classification. Membership may be revoked at any time with or without cause by the Board of Directors.
Honorary Member
Open to individuals currently employed by federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies. Honorary members enjoy all the benefits of Bank Members except voting rights. It's important to note that even if elected as a Director, an Honorary Member cannot vote in that capacity.
Bank Member
Designed for Delaware financial institutions subject to the Bank Protection Act of 1968. Bank members enjoy full voting rights on DABS matters and have access to all the resources offered by the association, including valuable financial crime information (subject to bylaws and established guidelines for information exchange). Upon joining DABS, Bank Members receive a membership certificate. To maintain membership, dues must be paid within 90 days of assessment.
Associate Member
Open to individuals or corporations with a legitimate business interest that aligns with DABS's mission. Associate members are non-voting and ineligible to hold elected office. While they do not have access to the business portions of meetings, they will receive notices of both monthly and quarterly gatherings. Additionally, Associate Members can apply for access to the DABS computer network and Alert Information, though approval is required and additional fees and guidelines apply. Similar to other membership categories, Associate Members must pay dues within 90 days of assessment.
